Brilliant for the price and location
Travelling Chook Oct 19, 2009
For the price I paid it was better then Hostels which cost the same amount! Simple room with all the essentials. The ... continental breakfast could have done with some fruit on offer, but it was fine. The location was very handy, off the main drag, but close enough to it that it was a short drive to any of the attractions I wanted to see.

The Pirates Dinner Adventure (about a 10min drive), is highly entertaining - especially for kids.

Nice hotel. Complimentary breakfast is great. Room is comfortable. You will feel like you are being watch all the time as ... they have a lot of security cameras and only one person is working in the front desk watching everyone that goes in or out. Great location at walking distance from Universal.

Disappointing experience. Workers RUDE

Disappointing experience. The hotel is unkempt and the service was substandard. 1.Phone is broken in the room you can only ... dial the front desk if they answer.2. window was unlocked and since there is no screen the window fell inwardinto the room and fell out of the frame. 3. Internet connection comes and goes.4. The room has two signs: If you've forgotten something just contact our front desk for the items you need. We have a variety of items available free of charge to help you avoid those last minute emergencies. Then the sign lists: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, razor, shaving cream, deodorant, and sewing kit. I asked for two and the front desk had none of the items. The same story was told to me the next day. The 3rd day a shipment was to arrive but, shocker it did not arrive.5. I put a do not disturb sign on my door and for two days I asked for no towels. The 3rd day I gave all the towels to the maid and asked for clean ones. She said the towels were being washed and she would later bring some to the room. I was going out and returned to the room after 5pm and there were no towels. [...] at the front desk had to search for 3 towels. [...] advised me since there are only 2 in the room we didn't need more then 3 towels. Previously, the maid said the Inndid not have many towels. There are no towels at the pool.6. The toilet comes apart from the floor and slides.7. There have been gun robberies recently.Needless to say I could go on and on. I think this Baymont Inn andSuites is not a good choice for a guest that visits Florida to stay.Thank you.

The hotel is very close to the entrance to Universals. They have Continental complimentary breakfast. Rooms are old and have ... some imperfections (The ironing board was broken). Overall, if you just want to stay in an inexpensive quiet place, this is the place.

nice place to stay
Zeke Jul 29, 2009
went to Universal Studios for two days. Only about 2 to 3 min. drive to Universal. Several restaurants and fast food places ... nearby. The continental breakfast area is a bit small. The only other minor complaint would be that there was only 1 switch for the bathroom light & fan. It would have been nice to be able to turn the light on in the bathroom, particularly at night, without the fan running. Overall my wife & I enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Also, if the shuttle is running late in the morning for Universal be careful as limo drivers may show up and try to convince you to ride with them, for a fee of course! Wait for the shuttle, it was about 15 min. late the day we used it.

Look for coupon flyer with maps at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. My wife and I ate at a nice Restaurant named Mythos, at Islands of Adventure. The coupon saved us 50% ($6.75) off my meal. We also used a coupon where we received a free topping on a funnel cake. There were several other coupons on the flyer as well.

Wireless internet bad electric bad
TOMMY JOE May 7, 2009
The internet at this place is a joke. If you are up stairs you have to go down stairs to get connected. The breakfast is all ... carbs make your own waffle some little debbie dounts bread (only half will be toasted)some sugar cereal milk juice coffee and cocoa. Be careful if you plug things into the wall. I was on the first floor and I plugged in my phone cord and it make fire come from the wall and shocked me the outlet turned black. JUST BE CAREFUL. The room was quiet. At 9:00am the maids knock on your door and wake you up to take the sheets etc to be cleaned. Even if you have a note on your door you will be woken up. No sleeping late here.
