The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Hotel was established in 1993 and was renovated in 1998. It is the favorite Hotel for most of the tourists and a real 'best seller' in the area of Punta Cana.
The Palace Hotel is located in the first line of the beach. Ideal atmosphere for all tastes, it is quiet for honeymoon couples, informal for youngsters and secure and enjoyable for families with children.
Property counts with 582 rooms distributed in 6 buildings of 3 floors each, all of them with elevators. All the rooms have a balcony with sea view, pool view or to the lush tropical gardens. The hotel was great! Very relaxing location with areas that were quiet and peaceful and also areas with much going on, so ... depending on the mood you were in you could choose where you wanted to be on the beach. Pool bar was amazing! More pool bars would have been great too tho. Many restaurants to choose from and being all-inclusive was wonderful!

If you feel the need to get away there is a shopping center about five minutes away ($10 taxi ride). There are several small shops, a movie theater, Hard Rock Cafe and Tony Romas.

The resort was very nice, the set up was great. The beach is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms ... were clean and spacious. The only down side was the towels didn't have that clean smell. Also, they can use more interactive activities.

Food wasn't the best. Try to pack some granola bars or other snacks unless you want to purchase a small bag of doritos for ... $7. We got sick towards the end and didn't feel right until almost three days after we got back. Make sure you pack some pepto or other stomach meds just in case. Drinks were very strong - cheaper to add more alcohol than the mixers. Staff wasn't too friendly, especially the bartenders. House Keeping staff did a great job keeping the rooms clean. Many weird smells throughout the resort. Smelled weird combinations of gas, ocean and cleaning product. Smell was especially bad in the elevator area. Try to stay in the deluxe suites. Rooms are very spacious and the hot tub on the balcony overlooking the ocean is awesome. Three of the five resorts in the complex were closed. Guests were not made aware of the closures until they arrived and were placed at the palace. Resorts were closed because they were "under renovation"?!?! As a result of the closures, less dining option too. Spoke with many who had stayed at the palace before and they said that things were much nicer a year or so ago. Like many areas, it appears that they may be feeling the impact of the financial downturn.

vacation worth going again

room overall looks were good but it was an older room that should have been renovated. It smelled AWFUL!!! It was bad enough ... that my husband and I didn't want to stay in our room. Also, our patio furniture was taken off our deck during our stay and it was almost impossible to get it back, due to the staff not understanding what we were talking about and also having to go to the front desk several times to get it back.

We have been going to Barcelo Bavaro Palace since 1994 and we always want to go back. People are very customer oriented, very ... friendly and the beach is the best in Punta Cana. The only thing that we would like to see improve is the lobby and the place for the nightly show which they do not have air conditioning and is very hot. We recommend this place to everyone. Is a Great Place for vacationing, to eat well and to rest!!!

The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Resort was very nice place and confortable but a few thing made this resort not what you would ... think of. We went with a couple of people and we all took five differents room in different locations. No one was please with this resort. At first we thought it was a four or five stars resort, take a look again it was anything but.

The beach is fantastic, the Palace should be called a hotel this is not a Palace by any means I HAVE never been to a Palace ... that charged extra for a brand name drink, I never been to a Palace that offered two English channels for free (CNN and a reglious channel), you pay extra for TBS,ESPN, OR MOVIE CHANNEL.Service for me was terrible at the buffet restaurants, I would finish when they would come pour water, ran out of orange juice in one breakfast, no cleans towels the first day I was there when I went back 5 hours later they tool me they still didn't have any towel it wasn't till another older couple showed up and I complained that they found a towel for me and the older couple. First night in the seafood restaurant no broil lobster.so I ordered crab,afredo noddles crab was all shells and no loose crab meat. This palace was just another hotel on the property. Save your money and catch a bus.

it's was very nice stay in this hotel, nice food, very good pool and nice beach, love disco club but they room was't so good ... every thing was so old in the room, they should upgrade every thing in the room, and it's was smell.
