My Boyfriend and I recently spent 4 days at the Barcelo Bavaro Golf Resort. We had a great time. The beach was beautiful and ... the resort was really great! Lots of amenities, the grounds were very well kept, our room was big and clean and we were never more then a few steps away from a bar! Our one complaint- the food!! It really was awful- we tried (or at least walked by and looked at the food) all 4 buffets and all 4 restaurants that are part of the all-inclusive package (disclaimer- we did not try any of the restaurants that you have to pay for- maybe those are great) and it was all really disappointing! It wasn?t just the entrees either- the bread was stale and flavorless, the cheeses were slimy and the fruit and veg never looked all that fresh. The pizza was decent. If you want great food to be a part of your vacation don?t stay here. If you want a nice all-inclusive resort at a decent price- by all means stay here! Just know what you?re getting into and maybe pack a few snacks.
