Extremely Disappointing
Mary Aug 18, 2009
We disliked the Barbados Beach Club so much that after two days we moved to the Hilton. Although the Hilton was not ... all-inclusive, it was well worth it. The rooms at BBC are dark and dingy. AC didn't work and I had to call daily for repair. We had hot water only occasionally. The same variety of starchy, filling food was served all the time. Men are required to wear long trousers for dinner in the two alleged specialty restaurants, which we were unprepared for; meaning if you don't have trousers you can plan on eating the buffet every day because you cannot get into the restaurants. There is only one bar at BBC (by the pool) and it was very disappointing, as were the drinks. Beach towels and the room safe key required a deposit of either a credit card or cash, which isn't too unusual, but there was always something to deal with. This is not your typical all-inclusive; I couldn't even get a bottle of beer for our room. I had to go to the bar and get a small plastic cup of beer if I wanted to drink in my room or go to the little store outside the hotel and buy bottles. I could go on and on. I will say that most of the staff were pleasant and hospitable. I feel terrible giving such a bad report on BBC, but this is truly what we experienced. Barbados is a wonderful place and you should enjoy your hotel as much as the island itself.

We liked everything about the hotel. The staff was very friendly, the food was good , the location was great and they even ... gave us a party for our 50th anniversary, which was a surprise. We loved the whole trip, including the jeep ride thru the rugged parts of the Island.

There were many nice restaurants within a short drive of the hotel which you should experience at least once.

Amazing and fantastic trip!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Barbados Beach Club from May 18th to May 23rd. This hotel is absolutely amazing. The ... location and food served was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make your trip perfect. If you are looking for a bargain, this is the hotel for you. Bridgetown was about 10 minutes away and there was always something to do close by. We did tons of activities, we suggest going to the Mt.Gay Rum factory, any catamaran cruise trip-swimming with turtles was a once in a lifetime experience, and also we went Zip lining. We had so much fun, we are still talking about everything we did. The guides on all the trips made this experience! Transportation to and from all of these activities was included with the cost. Gloria our Orbitz guide set everything up, all we had to do was be in the lobby at a certain time. The best of Barbados package included discount books and a $100 gift card to use where ever. We cannot wait to go back, everything and everyone was absolutely amazing. I would suggest this hotel to anyone. We plan to go back in the near future!
