I had a nice experience overall, mainly due to the friendly and helpful staff. the hotel itself is nothing extraordinary but ... its location is great for beach lovers, as there is an easy access to the beach from the hotel throughout the day and night. it is about a mile away from eating places....this was fine for me but it can be difficult for older folks in a hot day! the strange thing was I found no lotion in my room when I got in! and there was none left after daily cleaning. the cafe/dinning place inside the hotel is only OK. they have a small selection. it is good if you are in a rush but again nothing spectacular. I don't think I will stay in this hotel with their room rate unless I want to be really close to water.

The location is great, quiet, yet close to restaurants, activities, etc. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Only 2 ... negative points: A minor thing...towels could be softer. A major drawback...$18 daily parking fee (changed our plans of having a son who drove down,join us for the week)

Got a great rate through Orbitz, but got hit with fees that I did not expect. $20/ night for parking, $10 per day for ... internet, $9 to make one 30 second phone call. Beyond the nickel and diming, I found the staff to be indifferent if not indignant. They could care less if I was enjoying my stay or if I ever come back. Room was clean, nice view and great location, but I certainly wouldn't go back. I waited 30 minutes for someone to bring more pool towels, I waited 15 minutes only to have a server waive her hand in my face and say, "I'll get to you when I can" and I had trouble setting up airport transportation. I would gladly pay more to be treated like a customer or at the very least a human being.

The hotel was okay, but I was hoping for more than okay. The first room we got was unacceptable as it had a musty smell and ... looked rather shabby. The second room was better, but the beds must be quite old. They have attempted updating with some furnishings and bedding, but offering only feather pillows made our sleeping situation worse. The hotel needs real updating, in the "bones" of the building. It's not very inviting or comfortable. The staff was nice and very helpful, which really helped our stay be a bit more tolerable. The pool was nice and the "All About Food" place was really good for healthy choices.

The location of this hotel was it's best feature. The room was clean and in fairly good condition. The staff was friendly. ... I had booked a smoking room with a king size bed. We arrived an hour early (3pm) but were told the room would not be available until 4pm. Even at that time there were no smoking rooms available with king size bed so we ended up with a non-smoking room (I don't smoke inside anyway.) There was no mini-fridge to my surprise. Also, which is not advertised or included in your room rate, there is $22 a day self-parking fee as well as $10 a day internet fee should you need either of those services. We were supposed to get a special package for discounts on the hotel's restaurants which was part of the special but the girl at the front desk knew nothing about it. The restaurants/bars in the hotel itself were extremely expensive. Do a short walk to some of the little local places for a better deal on some good food. I would not stay here again, the location is great but it doesn't make up for the short comings of the hotel for our tastes.

Went as a getaway for the 4th of July...staff was friendly...food was tasty, nothing expensive...has a walkway leading to ... either the beach or pool...the pool was crowded. The step out balconies were nice...but it is very tiny space 4 people can barley fit although it served it's purpose.

This was my 3rd time here....LOVE the location, with the beach so close, great pool bar, with great food and live music on ... Saturday afternoon, and the views!! Can see the ocean, the marina with its fabulous yachts, the cruise ships heading out... The marina has its own water taxi stop....what a wonderful ride. And right next door, a wonderfully funky bar/restaurant on the water, the Bahia Cabana.

Good location for my husbands diving tours, but luckily (for me) the weather didn't comply a couple of days and we got to ... hang out together. Coconuts restaurant (near the boat launch and a short walk from the hotel) had half price wines on Mon and Tues - super values for a oenophile like myself.

Great location and price. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Bus/trolley stop is a block away which will ... take you down Las Olas. Staff generally are polite and professional. We got upgraded to a better building. However, one night shift staff ruined the whole experience of staff friendliness. I worked in a 3-star hotel before so I know how guests should and should not be treated. She never smiled, always acted annoyed and impatient, told me "what is wrong with you, I just told you earlier...." when I asked the same question twice, and sarcastically demanded "thank you" when I intentionally left that out just to see her reaction after making extra room keys for me. Other than this night shift lady who appeared to be in charge since other staff did ask her questions operating their computers, our experience at the hotel was fantastic.

The Bahia Mar was in a great location. Although, during check-in the staff was not helpful at all. If there were a kiosk I ... could have checked in myself. There were crumbs immediately outside my door as if a big rat was eating before I arrived. The rooms were very humid, therefore the air condition had to run to draw out the humidity. The beds were WET as a result and there were roaches. Wet bed or stay warm? I caught a chest cold and a sinus infection due to the humidity and A/C running all night. There was some obvious water damage to the table and the entertainment center. The wood showed splintering. NOT a GREAT PLACE TO STAY.

This hotel was at a great location right across from the beach. It was a 5 minute walk to Beach Place where there are really ... great restaurants and bars. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a great time and would absolutely stay here again.

In my opinion, if you stay at the hotel you should get reduced parking or free parking. Parking at $18.00 a day is a little ... pricey. It should have been disclosed. Otherwise, room very comfortable. Easy walk to the beach. Beautiful pool although we did not have time to enjoy the pool.

stayed one night, thought i was staying in the tower, but had to take our bags, from the lobby across the parking lot to the ... second floor of the two story low building, no one to help. Maintenence is poor & it's time to close that building & seriously renovate. Poor Hot water running from hot to cold.
