We love this hotel. The spa tub and shower float your stress away. The fireplace and full kitchen are very homey. It's clean, ... comfortable and safe. There's a selection of books and DVD's to choose from. I love the fact that you have complementary munchies waiting for you in your room, canisters of coffee beans to brew coffee whenever wanted and cookies and fruit in the lobby all day and evening. They also have wine and appetizers every eve. It's quiet and tucked away, but there's a really good restaurant 1 block away as well as a cocktail lounge. We usually make 5-7 trips/yr from San Diego to this general area (our daughter is a local Cal Poly student)but this is our favorite hotel and we try to stay often.

This hotel was awesome. They have jacuzzi tubs in every room. They leave a complimentary snack basket in the room and it is ... very close to the beach. The staff were great and it was a wonderful vacation.

the avila la fonda room was lovely - a big jacuzzi tub right in the room - huge double-head shower in the bathroom, plasma ... tv, ipod speakers, complimentary snacks and beverages both in the room and in the hospitality room. only a block to the beach. the linens were very nice, the bed really comfortable. the only improvement would have been if it had ocean views! but for the costco rate and such a gorgeous beach area, it was great.

The spa room was very nice, however, a big problem for me was that there was no air conditioning. It was extremely hot in ... Avila Beach the days we were there and the room became very warm and uncomfortable. I liked the size and layout of the room and the microwave and small fridge. The interior design of the whole hotel was beautiful. The staff was wonderful: very helpful and courteous. I liked the wine and cheese get-togethers held nightly, it was a great way to meet people and taste some local wine.

There were several places to eat just a block away, anything from a nice but overpriced restaurant to hot dog stands on the beach. Also a small grocery store and ice cream shop.

Good sized room in excellent condition. TV, DVD, CD iPod dock and all standard 4* amenities available. Evening drinks/snacks ... excellent. Spa bath in room but shower room excellent.

It was real nice we've already told friends about the Hotel. The room was very nice and the bathroom was even nicer. The ... housekeepers were really good people. The room was elegant they thought about everythigng the robs the towles big towles the coffee the alarm the tv 42 plasma it was well worth the money
