Good value, convenient location

Staying in St George was much more convenient for visiting our daughter at BIOS. Even in the off-season, St George has some ... good restaurants and Aunt Nea's is very conveniently located. The bus stop is at the end of the street making it easy to get to other parts of the island. Aunt Nea's and St George aren't for people looking for a lot amenities. The room was spacious with great hand carved furniture, cable tv, etc. The bathroom was functional but not spacious or grand. They have a continental breakfast (great coffee!) and the cutest little Corgi that pretends to be a guard dog.

Aunt Nea's Inn is in a great location in St. George. It is within an easy walking distance of the bus stop and ferry pier. ... With those two public transportation stops, the whole island is within reach. If we were not using public transportation, we walked which is always the best way to see a new location. The downside of Aunt Nea's Inn was that it does need some updating though the room was clean and the staff friendly.

Perfect location to see entire island

It is centrally located in the beautiful old town section of Bermuda -- 2 blocks from bus lines that connect you throughout ... the island, 2-3 blocks from the harbour and shopping. This B&B, once a former mansion, is situated on a large piece of land providing quiet, spacious grounds for its guests. It's a 15-minute walk to the nearest beaches. You can catch a bus for a quieter, less-crowded beach experience. Unlike most B&Bs, the room had its own bath and mini-fridge. The staff was very polite and welcoming!

The Swizzle in was really a nice place and reasonable priced and very delicious.
--Nicky, New York City Sep 15, 2009
An easy though slightly hilly walk (20-30 minutes)up Cut Road to Barry Road along the water leads to Alexandra Battery Beach, where you will find lots of sea glass, plus interesting shells and pottery pieces. On the subject of food--Bermuda food is truly expensive, so I chose takeout on several nights (pasta or hot grilled sandwich at Upper Crust). Best fish chowder and wahoo sandwich were at Black Horse Tavern in St. Davids.

Bermuda - September 09

The hotel is small and feels more like you are there to visit friends than a hotel. St.George is a great place to stay not as ... busy as Hamilton but also you are not in a resort that is far away from everything. We rented a scooter in St.George and explored the island by ourselves. 7 Days gives you enough time to see the island and also relax and enjoy the wonderful beaches.

Wonderful place to stay in St. Georges!

My room at Aunt Nea's Inn (called Guava) was much better than I expected--I think the online description is outdated. I was ... in a 2nd building across from the Main Building but I really liked the privacy. There was a kitchen with a full refrigerator and microwave plus a table and chairs; the bathroom was great, with a really good shower (not a tub in the room, as described). The 4 poster bed was super-comfortable. The setting was just beautiful--a two minute walk from the bus and stores yet a real feeling of being off the main drag. Really nice staff and a sweet Corgi dog, Skye, who sat with me watching the arrival of Hurricane Bill! Great comfy couch and loads of cable channels on the TV. I ended up staying one extra night because my flight home was canceled. Everyone was helpful and I would definitely stay there again.

I loved this trip. Aunt Nea's was unique. If you like new and sparkling clean this is not the place for you. It's old and ... has tons of character. You can see the ocean from the Veranda. It reminded me of the quaint small towns in England. The bus stop is 3 blocks away. The harbor is 6 blocks away. The perfumery is right around the corner. The beach, very rustic but absolutely beautiful, is a 10 min walk away. The best deal was a 3 day bus pass for $26 each. We used it to go to the aquarium, to go into Hamilton [twice] to take the ferry to Dockyard. The people are wonderful, informative and friendly. I would go back again in a heartbeat. The rooms range from one bed with sink and shower in the room to a king sized bed with a small living room attached and a large seperate bathroom. The continental breakfast left abit to be desired. Just english muffins, OJ, coffee and a small variety of cereal. very little fruit. But there was a small fridge in our room and the grocery store was just down the street [we didn't discover that until the last day] St. George Club is right next door, same view, same location but starts at $450 a night. Granted you had your own little 'cottage' but how long are you in the room? I'll take Aunt Nea's anytime.

It takes about 35 minutes by bus into Hamilton, which is the main city. The drive is very pretty and peaceful. There are lots of restaurants in town. Food is expensive. Italian seems to be the best. We expected great sea food, but there didn't seem to be that. We ate a great restaurant recomended by a local. It's in an alley behind the main streets. Tutorria [I'm not sure of spelling]But it had great pizza, salads, and pastas. Seems to be very popular with locals and wasn't crazy priced. Hog Penny is a good English restaurant. Sheppard's pie and the like. That was in Hamilton also. St. George had some nice little restaurant. Tavern by the sea. Carraige House [very expensive]

Our room was quaint with a four post bed. The bed was very comfortable. We had no problem with ants or anything. The hostess ... has been there 21 years, and does a great job ensuring guests are comfortable. It is clean, comfortable and a great value. We met some wonderful people who also guests there.

Bring $$; everything is imported in Bermuda, so the cost is expensive for food, etc. Everything in the grocery store is twice what we pay in the U.S. Many good restaurants and souvenir shops....the best thing about the island is that EVERYONE is friendly!

Would Stay there Again
Nina May 22, 2008
Aunt Neas is in St.George's parish... the old-town district. I chose this hotel because it was closest to the St. George's ... boating club where my brother's boat would be docked. St.George's has an adequate amount of restaurants and shops but if you're looking to get to the beaches you'll have to take the bus or the ferry which can take up to an hour+. The inn was charming. They did provide a continental breakfast which was a nice surprise but my room was great close to the restaurants and waterfront and the inn keeper was quite pleasant. So was the Scottie the dog and the 3-legged neighbor cat that was always hanging around outside! Great value for the money, I would definitely stay here again even if I was coming to Bermuda just for the beaches! However, if I had young kids I might opt for a place closer to the beaches or a place with a pool.

Aunt Nea's is a quaint island inn in a very convenient location with a view of the harbor. It's only 2 blocks away from ... great restaurants, shops, supermarket, bus stop etc... You can walk to 3 beautiful breathtaking beaches. The inn staff was very friendly & helpful but, the inn does need some TLC.

Aunt Nea's Inn is only 2 blocks away from fine waterfront dining, cafe's, pizza, bar/pub food, etc... You can always order take-out grab a bottle of wine/beer and bring it back to the inn & enjoy it outside at one of the tables or in your room.
