The Bucuti is an incredible hotel, it is right on the beach and quiet! An amazing place for a honeymoon or relaxing ... getaway. This is not a place for the activity seeking guests and children would be bored. However, if you and your spouse are looking for a relaxing place to enjoy warm water and white sand beaches...then the Bucuti should be at the top of your list.

Great place to rest and relax!!
Goce Aug 10, 2009
Bucuti is a great place to visit for rest and relaxation. The beach here is beautiful and very peaceful. The location was ... perfect as the hotel is located about half way between the high rise hotels and Oranjestad and it is about a 5 minute (~$9) cab ride each way to and from these areas. I was most impressed with the concierge team. I gave them a list of restaurants in Aruba that we wanted to dine out at during our stay and they put together an itinerary for us that went above and beyond my expectations. My only complaint about Bucuti was that on a few occasions housekeeping did not get to our room until ~4pm which we found inconvenient. As for the food, the complimentary breakfast buffet in the Tara Suites lounge was great and it included just about everything you would expect for breakfast. We did not really care for the Pirate's Nest located on the property as there are so many other excellent restaurant's on the island. Their Caesar salad was great but the steaks had an off taste and the place is not inexpensive.

Awesome Honeymoon Getaway!
Nikki Jul 29, 2009
the location of Bucuti Beach resort couldn't have been any better. It was further down from the High rise resorts which was a ... huge plus. The beaches were more quiet and relaxing and it definitely catered to couples without kids. the staff was absolutely top notch-from our check in to check out they were all smiles and very accommodating. They all have the "anything is possible" attitude. from dinner on the beach, spa days, welcome gifts-amazing! our favorite part of the trip was an all day jeep tour. Aruba is a very small island but there is plenty to see. definitely go scuba diving or snorkeling-the water does not get any clearer than this! its beautiful! all our reservations, and excursions were booked thru the hotel's concierge- they took care of everything-made all the right calls gave great suggestions during our stay. my husband and I cannot wait to visit aruba again and we will only stay at bucuti!

to help cut the cost of lunch and dinner (bucuti does provide a great spread for breakfast every morning) we took a trip to the local grocery store, you can walk but we took a cab with all the goods we bought. we were able to eat in half the time and go out and enjoy some great places the other half. Bucuti Tara suites provides their guests with fridges, coffee makers and kitchen dishes. oh and no need to continously buy water bottles-Aruba has the BEST tasting water straight from the tap! we bought two bottles and refilled them to keep in the fridge during our entire vacation.

Great honeymoon location
rob in sf Jul 21, 2009
Most spacious and quiet beach - there were always beach huts available. We hardly saw any kids and no loud/obnoxious people ... like the high-rise area which makes this the perfect spot for a couples vacation. Pizza Bob's or subway is right across the street for an inexpensive meal and they have the Pirates Nest restaurant right on the beach aside from other restaurants within walking distance at the other hotels. There is not much shopping in the are, you would have to go to either downtown (cheaper) or the Paseo de Herencia mall in the high-rise area.

Best spot for couples!
StayfocusedEB Jul 6, 2009
The Bucuti is located at a great spot along the beach, and is removed from all of the hectic activity of those vacationers ... staying at or near the highrise hotels. That said, you're only a 5 minute ride away from all of the shops and activities located near the highrises. There is a lot to do in Aruba, but trying to get to everything without a rental car can become prohibitively expensive. You should DEFINITELY rent a car--it pays for itself each time you travel away from the Bucuti (and reserve the car BEFORE you arrive on the island! The likelihood of you walking in to a car rental location and renting a car on-site is essentially zero,). But if you're not the type for leaving a resort, then the Bucuti can accommodate that as well.

Far and away, the best dining experience on the island is the restaurant "The Old Man and the Sea." Admittedly, you must drive about 30-40 minutes or so in order to get to the restaurant, but if you have access to a vehicle (or you are willing to spend $50+ for the taxi ride) then the drive is COMPLETELY worth it. The restaurant is located near a little cove, and you dine on the beach. The service is absolutely excellent, and only surpassed by the quality of the food! My wife and I have dined at a number of truly impressive restaurants, and Aruba's "The Old Man and the Sea" ranks among our top 10! If you visit Aruba without visiting this restaurant, you have truly done yourself a disservice!

Quiet, Beautiful & Romantic Vacation
ArubaFan Jul 2, 2009
First, I should say that we did not stay in the Tara Wing (the newer wing), but loved our room in the Bucuti wing. The ... building is set back only slightly further from the beach than the Tara wing and we still felt like we were just steps from the beach. Our room was very modern, overlooked the interior grounds with a small view of the ocean, which was great and unexpected. Although the room smelled a bit when we entered (they apparently have a moisture problem there), we never noticed it again because of the humidifier in our room that was running the entire time (and kind of nice sleep noise). We felt relaxed almost from the moment we arrived. During check in we were offered champagne, which was wonderful after a long trip. We did not venture outside the resort other than for dinner and to visit a couple of casinos. Our goal was to have a relaxing beach vacation. The beach was wonderful -you don't feel crowded or rushed to go reserve a chair and palapa. There are always plenty available. And the view is just breathtaking and the atmosphere so quiet! Breakfast on the deck overlooking the ocean each morning was lovely, although the breakfast itself was nothing great. They do have made to order eggs and pancakes and french toast. We loved the pancakes and got them every day! I think the key with the breakfast is just finding something you really like and going with it. Happy hour happens 2 times a day from 4-6 and 9-10 and drinks are 1/2 price. You can ask for a big red umbrella when you get your towels which you use to get beachside drink service. Put the umbrella in the sand and someone is by your side within minutes to take your order! That said, it can be so hot that your frozen drinks may melt a bit before getting back to you. But you are just steps from the bar, so not a big issue to get the drinks yourself, too. Was a bit rocky getting into the water, but only at the start and did not stop anyone from swimming in that gorgeous water. The water and beach are absolutely beautiful. Walks along the beach are a must and we would frequently walk and then go for a swim to cool down. My husband, who is usually a pool person, did not spend any time by the pool, except for an hour or so on our last day. If you like pools, Bucuti pool is really nice. It's small, but beautifully situated with lots of wonderful lounge furniture, including double bed loungers, which are also located in the bar/deck area. Really can't say anything bad about this hotel. Sure they could do breakfast better and perhaps pay a bit more attention here and there to little details, and they don't have all the amenities of a five star resort, but if you are looking for a peaceful vacation with wonderful service and assistance in booking activities and restaurants, as well as the most beautiful, quiet and uncrowded beach in Aruba, then this place will not disappoint! We were so very sad to leave.

There are many, many wonderful restaurants within a short taxi ride from the hotel. Taxis are always readily available in front of the hotel. The concierge can tell you exactly what it should cost to get from the hotel to any restaurant or other location on the island. Most are about $9 each way with the exception of Mirandi (well worth the trip) and some others. Our favorite restaurants were Yemanja and Chef Tables, and we also loved Mirandi and Papiamento for the atmosphere (dining poolside). Strongly encourage you to eat dinner out! But be sure to watch the sunset at least once from the Bucuti deck ..preferably on one of their double bed loungers!

Wonderful place to stay
Joe May 28, 2009
This is a wonderful place to stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had an ample amount of ... space. The bed was comfortable (and I'm very hard to please when it comes to beds). The complementary breakfasts were top notch; made to order eggs and pancakes, along with anything else you could want. It is located right on the ocean, along one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Aruba. We stayed at the Tara wing in which all of the roooms look out on the beach. It truly was a remarkable place! We will definitely stay there again. The only drawback I can think of was the food on property (except for breakfast, which was included) was quite pricey. We ate off property most of the time.

The Bucuti is on a great stretch of beach (Eagle Beach). We had stayed at the Hyatt two years ago and found this beach to be ... better, less crowded than the Hyatt. The service was superb, all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Do make use of the concierge for making any reservations for you. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would come back.

Amazing Resort
Cathy Mar 3, 2009
This was my first trip to Aruba, planned as a surprise for my husband's 60th birthday, and it couldn't have been a better ... experience. I chose the resort after viewing many others online and reading reviews. The cost of the room included full buffet breakfast each morning. We wanted a quiet 'couples' vacation and it was amazing. Everyone we met at the resort from the check-in, the conceirge, bar tenders, and house cleaners were all friendly, polite and always accomodating. The room was always immaculate, the beach was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. They even had 'Movie on the Beach Night!" I've never had a better vacation and can't wait to return to Bucuti Beach!!!!

The Aruba Bucuti Beach Resort is a lovely low-rise hotel with friendly, well organized, and efficient staff. The layout is ... gracious, elegantly simple, and comfortable. A wide, well-maintained beach, and a nice pool are immediately available. The ocean-side restaurant is decent and not pricey. The exercise room is outdoors, not air-conditioned, but has adequate equipment. The business room is well equipped. There were few children at the resort, so it is quiet and relaxed. The staff are uniformly helpful and knowledgable. We had a lovely time.

A Great Escape
Andrea Aug 30, 2008
We stayed at the Bucuti for our honeymoon. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with champagne. Check-in was easy and the ... staff were all very helpful and polite. They are constantly cleaning the hallways and stairways because of the constant influx of sand, so it always looks clean. The beach is gorgeous. It is never too crowded and is very peaceful. We spent most of our time on Aruba relaxing under a hut on Bucuti's beachfront. I particularly liked how Bucuti has made available book cases filled with books for you to take out on to the beach. It was a very nice touch. (As this was out first island getaway vacation, I'm not sure if other beach hotels offer books as well.) The bartenders at the beach bar were all very funny and friendly. We ate dinner at the Pirate's Nest our first night there. The food was delicious. We will definitely be staying at the Bucuti again.

The island is very small so just about everything is a short drive away. We ate at the following restaurants on the island: The Pirate's Nest, Iguana Joe's, Driftwood, Gasparito, Madame Janette The food at all of the restaurants we ate at was great. Although I was with my boyfriend, I wasn't sure I enjoyed being surrounded by what seemed to be only newlyweds. There was ... even a beach wedding while we were there. That being said-the beach was beautiful, the staff lovely, the room clean (and I am fussy). My only complaint was the food. The menu was terrible. We ate out every night. Check -in was late but the staff was very apologetic.
