The hotel was clean and nice but the staff seemed like they really didnt know anything about the area. When i called the ... front desk to ask about any nice Sunday brunch in the area they told me Hometown Buffet, Now I have no problem with Hometown Buffet but I think you catch my drift when I say nice brunch! When we pulled up to what looked like valet, I went inside to find out that they dont have valet. At $15.00 a day for parking I expect valet and bell hop services!!! Also I think a hotel of this level should offer more then one type of pillow, and no room service after 9:00pm was kind of a bummer. It just seemed like i heard the word no more often then yes and for a hotel like this I dont think thats right...

We found our room with a "view of Disneyland Fireworks" a disappointment because the outside of our windows were dirty, ... really dirty. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and cycled continuously - making sleep very difficult even though the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The on sight gift shop stayed open late and carried all those little things you forgot to pack in addition to souvenirs and snacks.

Not as expected
turned away by staff Sep 19, 2009
Upon arriving after paying additional fees online for a "room with a view of the fireworks" we were informed that if we ... wanted to park on Hotel property we would be charged a fee of $14.00!. This is a fee that should be advertised if the hotel were concerned with the average customer. We stepped into the room to find that the view was obscured by the palm trees next door. I went down to explain this at the front desk and was told that there were not any rooms available any higher than the 4th floor they gave us, The building has 8 floors. The clerk told me the fireworks would be higher than the trees and if there was a problem we could talk to him the next day when we leave. I ewxplained that it was 1 day stay and he proceeded to tell me that he personally watched the show from the 4th, which I found later was probably not true or he would have known that we would be watching through the trees. Unless the clerks are taught to sell at any cost without worry for the customers, which he did a very good job of not showing any concern. Ihop is a much better choice for breakfast dining due to price and size of the somewhat tiny buffet.

I was there for a convention and a couple of days at Disneyland Resorts. When checking in I found the key I was given did ... not work on the door. The room was beside the elevator and so when I went back to get my key fixed. I requested a room further away from the elevator as well and was given an upgrade. I did notice that the line had 3 groups of people checking out complaining about things that were on their bill and their parking system. The room was a special rate for the summer and included a breakfast voucher. If there would have been 2 of us the voucher would not have covered the cost of the breakfast in the resturant. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. I don't think the hotel was very full. There were very few people at breakfast there.

I was there for a convention. The hotel guests were mainly family. The hotel was nice, no complaints, nothing special. I ... liked the internet in the room and lobby, also the soap and shampoo were nice from bath and body works. The location was within walking distance to Convention Center, Shops, Restaurants and Disney. I did not need a car but need to find a way to and from the airport.

Fantastic hotel
laysia Aug 11, 2009
This hotel has been renovated, so the rooms all had huge flat screen tvs and comfortable beds. Also, it was within walking ... distance to Disneyland. I think it took us about 10 or 15 minutes to walk from the hotel to Disneyland's main gate. The hotel has a ticket machine for the shuttle if someone didn't want to walk. Anaheim GardenWalk is even closer to the hotel than Disneyland. Just turn right on Katella and the mall/theater/bowling alley/restaurants are on your left. My only complaint is the $14/day parking fee. Other than that, Red Lion Inn was a wonderful place to stay.

Very Nice Experience
Jamie Aug 3, 2009
The Red Lion Hotel was very nice. The rooms are clean and contemporary, with upgraded ammenities like granite counter tops, ... flat screen TV, Wolfgang Puck coffee packets, etc. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. Very close to Disneyland and convenient transportation via the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit). There is a ART kiosk located in the front of the hotel to purchase ART passports. My only complaint is the rather expensive rate to park at the hotel ($14/day). I also like the fact that this is a "pet friendly" hotel. You can bring your pets to stay with you for a mere $20 per day. Better yet, if you join the Red Lion club, they will waive the pet stay fee.
Traveler type: Friends
If you stay at this hotel and are going to Disneyland, purchase ART passports and take the bus to the park. the ART busses drop off & pickup very close to the maingate. Parking at Disneyland will cost you $12 per day. ART passports only cost $3 per adult, $1 for kids and free for 2 and under.

Hotel critic Aug 2, 2009
great food and service at hotel, nice furniture, friendly housekeeping ladies, great pool, convinient bar, clean parking lot, ... and very classy lobby. Half of the front desk staff could improve people skills and be as efficient as the other half of the front desk staff. Parking prices could uses clarity both in writing and verbally from front desk staff. Parking has different rates "up to $14" but ends up being $14/day. Expensive for not having garage since they get hit by the sun all day and cars do get full of dirt in parking lot. Best hotel buffet in Anaheim.

Breakfast is great, has variety, don't have to wait for food, and cook is willing to accomodate. Waiters/waitress keep your coffee hot and plenty of cream at table. Restaurant is very clean. Between buffet and table condoments nothing is missing!

Rooms were quiet and nicely appointed.
Business and Pleasure Jul 31, 2009
The rooms were quiet, location was great. Downsides included $14/day parking (par for the course in this area, but still...) ... and breakfast buffet not included ($10.95/person), but there is an IHOP next door, and other options on the way to DisneyLand. It was an easy walk to both DisneyLand and the convention center. I did not check out the pool or fitness center. Hotel was clean and comfortable with an upscale ambience. It is not inexpensive though, and I would expect parking and breakfast to be included. At least it did include free wi-fi, unlike one of the other big names in this area (starts with an H, shares a name with a certain Paris).
Traveler type: Family
The GardenWalk is also only a short walk away, (closer than Disney) and has Dining Options including Bubba Gump Shrimp, P.F. Changs, Roys, and more including fast food options in the food court area.
