It was easy to find, in a good place. The breakfast was good, and it was quiet and peacefull. The only thing we did not ... like was that the elevator was broken and my husband and I cannot be going up and down the stairs. Elevators should be something that should be fix immediatelly.

First, if you are at all sensitive to noise either get a room facing the back or forget this place. Second, the rooms have ... been redone fairly well, good carpet, surprisingly decent beds and decor, etc. Third, the lobby and the hallways look like a pack of wild monkeys had a scratching contest. Also like the carpet remnants guy had lots of short lengths of the worlds ugliest samples that he donated to a charity but somehow wound up here.

Cool place
James Mar 30, 2008
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay down the street from 6th st then this is the place to stay. 2 things i think ... they need to work on is that on the last day the toilet stopped working and we told them to fix it and no one never showed and that you can't have guest after 11pm. That is good in a way but if you are a party goer like me then that can be a bit of a problem but over all it's a cool place.

It was OK
Jamie Mar 9, 2008
From looking at the hotel from the outside, I was a bit worried what I had gotten us into. The room was clean. The bathroom ... left a lot to be desired. The bathtub needed a good bleaching (I wore flip flops in the shower). The heater and the A/C didn't work but the weather was awesome and we just left the window up. Had it been summer time, this would have been a serious issue. We didn't spend much time there other than to sleep and shower. It suited our needs.

An excellent value!
Christopher Mar 4, 2008
When I arrived at the front desk, I was promptly and courteously welcomed by the hotel owner and within a few minutes I was ... in my room. The room was very clean and did NOT smell like smoke, or excessive amounts of air freshener. It had a partial view of an Austin hillside. It had a refrigerator and microwave, a TV, a clean and well stocked bathroom, and a very comfortable King-sized bed. The room rate also included a free breakfast (the breakfast spread consisted of eggs, sausages, waffles - which you make yourself with fresh batter and which come out molded into the shape of the state of Texas! (a cute touch), fresh pastries, cold cereal, fresh coffee, toast, bagels and juice. Simple, tasty and satisfying. Finally, my personal favorite feature of this hotel is FREE WIRELESS INTERNET! When I first arrived I wasn't able to immediately connect to the internet, but I made a quick call to the front desk and all was restored. Someone immedately troubleshot the problem, restarted a Router (or whatever) and restored the network. It worked perfectly for the rest of my stay. The front desk was also kind enough to provide me with a full sized map of Austin, and even offered me an Ethernet cable for a direct network connection, if I needed one. The staff was very courteous and it was quite obvious that they took pride in their hotel and ran it professionally. To summarize, if you are on a budget and you don't mind if your surroundings are slightly outdated or less than spectacular, and you just want *good service* and a *clean and comfortable room* along with some *significant extras*, I will simply say this: I sincerely doubt that there is a better hotel value in Austin, or anywhere else for that matter! Two thumbs up! *An Excellent Value!*

Good location but that's all!
dana Sep 24, 2007
This hotel is very easy to find. The outer appearance is somewhat disconcerting at first glance. The hotel is NOT in ... visually inviting conditions at the time of my stay. The outside is being resurfaced. The entire hotel is being redone. I had a first floor room and was concerned when I checked the window and found it UNLOCKED and slightly open. I only spent about 6 hrs. in this hotel. I was not impressed and will not be staying there again. It did serve the purpose, I needed somewhere close to the airport to stay and for a reasonable price.

The America's Best Value Inn was comfortable and included a refridgerator and microwave which really came in handy. It was ... located right off of IH 35 in Austin so was convenient to many restaurants and to the businesses I was seeing. I will stay there again when I return as the price was reasonable.
