The grounds feature lighted pathways that meander through gardens, and recreational areas that include lagoon pools and tennis courts. Three lagoon pools include one reserved for children and one reserved for adults only that features a swim-up bar. A daily activity program gathers guests for activities such as beach walks and hair braiding. Children from newborns through their teens stay occupied throughout the day with one of four kids programs based on age, and centered on both indoor and outdoor play areas. Lounge chairs and umbrellas dot the fine black-coral sand beach.

perfect honeymoon
Happy Honeymooner Jul 12, 2009
We had a 10 day perfect honeymoon! Great location, beautiful gardens, perfect beach, wonderful pools, great bartenders, ... beautiful rooms. Staff members were very friendly and always had tips of what to do while on their island. The food was decent. Some dishes were so delicious we ordered it again in the same meal but then others were not so fabulous; not bad, but not fabulous. Don't expect beef they mostly have chicken, seafood and pork. Desserts were good but not the highlights. While on the island we were brave and took the bus into Castries and walked around. Bus fare was 1.75 in EC which in American currancy was less than 50 cents. It woudl have been more expensive to take a private cab. Everyone on the streets were very helpful and while we remained on guard we felt safe. A few tips. Research your excursions before you get there. The hotel claims they have the best prices on excursions but doing a little leg work before the trip saved us money. For example we went to the Treetop Rainforest Zip Line in Dennery and the hotel would have charges us $20 more than booking directly through the company. We met a fantastic Taxi Driver who drove us all over the island for a full day going to all the highlights of St. Lucia. He was incredibly informative and very nice. [...] You can't beat his prices or his choice of food stops. He would also be a great person to just drive you to and from the airport. We know how hard it was to find a good driver who would give a fair price, we wish we would have found him sooner in our trip. If you are going on your honeymoon and you are offered the honeymoon package print that off and make sure you bring that with you. The wedding/honeymoon coordinator was not so fantastic on making sure we got what was promised to us. For example we never got our Celebration Dinner with Champagne and a special menu becasue she would never call us back, though we called her several times, to schedule it. Final tip: don't worry about getting your shots before the trip. We paid a good $400 each for 'required' shots so we could get back to the States that no one in customs ever made sure we had. Our only complaint about the hotel (besides the missing hooneymoon dinner) was the restaurant service in getting and filling drinks quickly at all meals. Which is a minor complaint with an easy fix, order 2 drinks for each meal so you don't run out. Overall we would highly recommend the trip and the resort. If you go make sure you stop off at Tommy's Bar. [...] makes the best strawberry mojitos!

If you plan a day long excursion ask for a picnic to be packed for you. As long as you give them one day notice the resort will pack you a great lunch that you will be able to take with you.

Great location, poor entertainment
Caribbean Joe Jun 29, 2009
The food was pretty good, but the fish was, um, really well done. The entertainment is a series of Phil Collins 80's hits, ... and a continual replaying of The Eagles "Hotel California". Really this is the biggest flaw of the place. Their daytime activities and beach are great: sailing, kayaking, good organized trips around the island. You'll pretty much want to go to bed between 9-11 PM to avoid the loud 80's concert delivered nightly though.

Don't shop at the duty free store where the cruise ships land. Go to the market in downtown. The vendors will act offended when you try to bargain for goods, but don't cave in. They come down in price by about 40%, but make you feel guilty about it.

Relaxing getaway
Stu Jun 26, 2009
The resort was a short 10 min drive from the north airport. Everyone we met, whether at the resort or not, was helpful and ... friendly. The resort was very relaxing, the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. About the only thing we didn't like at the resort was the food. The food was pretty good, we just grew tired with the lack of dining variety within the resort.

You have to give Joy Tours a try. Captain Joy picks you up on the beach. You spend the day cruising the coastline to Soufrie. From there you visit the volcano, waterfall, and botanical garden. You snorkel between the Pitons and have lunch on a private beach. This is a day you don't want to miss.

Almond Morgan Bay - Good Deal, Great Tim
MJ2E Apr 22, 2009
After reading many of the reviews prior to our trip I was really concerned but there was no need to worry. From the moment ... we were met with rum punch, we felt welcomed. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. The resort itself is beautifully maintained. The flowers and landscaping are gorgeous. The pools are clean and the area around the pool is well kept. The rooms are adequately sized and ours was kept very clean. Our biggest challenge was getting used to the British plugs and lights that turned on with your room card. One day we shorted out the room due to our own stupidity and they were there within a half hour to fix everything. The food was very good to great. We really liked all the restaurants but Le Jardin and the one on the Wharf were our favorites. We ate seafood all the time and laughed at people who complained about things like beef. Why eat beef on an island? The portions were right sized. Try all of the restaurants, they are very different. Our only complaint wasn't about the restaurants but about ignorant guests who seated their children at another table and then proceeded to ignore them. The children were bored and poorly behaved. I felt sorry for the wait staff. Although the beach is small (most beaches are on St. Lucia)the water activities were fun. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boats. And we HIGHLY recommend Capt. Joy's Cruise. Not sanctioned by the resort but very enjoyable. We had a great day and they made my husband's 50th birthday very memorable. Say hey to [...] if he is there booking the trips and thank him for the great birthday for my husband. My college-aged daughter and her boyfriend especially enjoyed the upper bar where bartender [...] reigns over rum drinks. She was the best and we really enjoyed talking with her. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. The entertainment was a little amateurish but was energetic and fun. We weren't expecting Las Vegas. It was also interesting that the four of us were the only Americans there. We enjoyed our new English and Canadian friends immensely.Five days was long enough for us. My husband declared the vacation "perfect." We are not high maintenance but we do have high standards and we believe in treating people the way we would like to be treated. We had a great time at the Almond Morgan Bay and would recommend!

Marva Aug 3, 2008
This resort is best suited for couples or families. There is a choice of five places to eat and in my opinion three are ... really great, they are: Bambou, Morgan's Pier and Le Jardin. The hotel entertainment is pretty good, but herein lay one of the most disappointing things about this hotel. It is that apart from your room, Le Jardin and the reception area, nowhere else has air conditioning. So if the weather is really hot and humid you sweat like crazy while watching the entertainment or having a meal at four of the five restaurants.

Randy Jul 10, 2008
my wife and i stayed at amb for a week and loved every minute of it. everyone was friendly and their to have a good time. ... the water sports was the best part, unlimited sking and wakeboarding all day. wind surfing, sailing, bananna boat rides. we had a blast! definatly gonna go back! food was very good considering it is an all inclusive property. the entertainment is where they need to spend soe money and do some recruiting. the show were so bad they kept me watching b/c it seemed like a comedy act. other than that we loved it. my wife and i saw perfect sun set every night from our balcony, what more could you ask for.
