There were very nice, nationally known chains as well as unique local dining establishments.

Tnis was my first visit at Oak Plantation Villa Resort. The room and facility was wonderful. I will visit them again next year. The resort was close to EVERYTHING, restaurants, shopping, cinema, ball diamonds, Disney, and the coast.

Nice central location to get to spring training ball parks.

The Oak Plantation was very comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom had a walk in closet and the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and dish ware you would need. The walkway went around the lake and pool area which made for a nice A.M./P.M. stroll. The location makes east to get to all the Orlando attractions but is still off the beaten path. We were a little concerned when we realized it was behind a shopping center but once you drive through the gates it's beautiful. The parking lot always seemed full in the evenings but you didn't feel crowded. we are returning there on our next trip with family.

The Mexican restaurant across the street is excellant! If you order the grill for two it feeds about five!

The Oak Plantation Resort was just that- a resort. It offered many activities, a "resorty" atmosphere, yet it was right off busy 192, minutes away from Disney! Having the bedroom seperate from the pull out bed was wonderful and the in suite laundry access was dreamy. We drove home with clean clothes in our suitcase!

Very Convenient

The mall w/movie theaters and various restaurants is within a few miles.

This resort was quiet, restful and also close to the attractions. The hotel staff was accommodating and very helpful. The resort staff did try to get us to attend a sales presentation, but they were not pushy when we refused. Overall, we were very satisfied and will consider this resort when we next visit the Orlando area.

No rest for the weary

The Oak Plantation Resorts was really nice at first impression. As we checked in to our suite everything was clean, furniture was reasonably new, and kitchen had everything you would need to cook all your meals. And then came bedtime !!!! My wife and I, (and 18 mon. old), were in bed almost 10 mins. when you would have thought a Jumbo Jet landed in our bedroom. That would be the A/C unit which is located in the wall of the bedroom, roughly 6' from your heads when in bed. This would kick on every 20 mins. Then came the 3rd night. After almost getting used to sleeping on a runway, at about 2am about 15 to 20 late teen to early twenties "guests" decided to have a super-soaker water gun fight while screaming and chasing each other around the parking lot. As I am watching this out the window, security drives right through the center of the crowd without commenting to any of them on the "quiet after 8pm" policy that the resort states is "strictly enforced". The security guard drives back through again about 5 minutes later on the way back to his post and again did not stop to address them. Day 5. We have new neighbors in the unit next door who decided to argue, slam doors and what sounds like all but kill each other until about 1am. Day 6 and 7 did not exist because we checked out 2 days early. Money wasn't an issue at this point, our sanity was. Upon checkout, I advised the desk clerk that we were leaving early and told him of the previous nights events and how the security did nothing. His response was just "oh really?". That was it.

Disney was approx.6 miles away and the simple directions they gave us avoided the traffic and brought us right into the parks.

We rented the one bedroom with sleeper couch. Unfortunately after getting all settled in the air conditioner froze up due to the last guests playing with the thermostat. But the staff came right away when called and quickly gave us an upgraded 2-bedroom suite larger than most small apartments. We had more than enough room and it was very clean and stocked well. My only suggestion would be to have dish cloths (to wipe counters & tables) and a little dish soap with you (for in-between dishwasher loads) as they provide only a kitchen towel and automatic dishwasher soap packets each cleaning. Security and maintenance were always patroling the area and we felt safe and at home. Nice pool area and we enjoyed a movie and popcorn there one evening. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again.

The hotel provides directions to take turnpike to Disney, I think 192 is just as fast [although there is more traffic] and no tolls to pay.

Check in was fast, even w/early arrival. Helpful staff w/quick directions to all local attractions. When we entered the room we were pleasantl surprised to find a nice, clean townhome style room. (Make sure you don't book the studio suites as they are of main Rd, around block - all others onsite] Was very clean. Pool was warm and nice, a bit shy on pool chairs so get there early on and be sure to leave room key in car if traveling to Disney as it deactivates programming for gate & room. Would very much recommend for those who are on budget and looking for a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Not too far a drive from parks, however would be difficult/timely to get around had we not had rental car. Everything close by for room accomodations - groceries, etc. Will plan on staying here on our next visit, would be good place to just hang out for week or so.
