Orlando Flights

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the premiere destination for international flights to Orlando. The immense popularity of the many amusement parks in and around the Orlando metropolitan area makes this the second-busiest airport in Florida. Orlando International services many cities the world-over including Paris, Bogota, Frankfurt, Toronto, and London. Some of the airport's convenience lies in the complimentary shuttle between the airport and Disneyland resort hotels called the Magical Express. They will even deliver your luggage to the resort ahead of time. Buses are available from terminal stations for travelers departing on cruises from Port Canaveral. Ground transportation is available from Orlando flights in the form of the city's abundant car rental services and Lynx buses.

Orlando Weather

There are two major weather concerns to pay particular attention to when scheduling flights to Orlando. The hurricane season generally falls between May and September, and lightning storms tend to hit Florida between April and October. This is the off-season for planning flights to Orlando anyway, since temperatures are especially hot and the air is uncomfortably humid. The best time to visit Orlando is during the winter and early spring. While this is a very busy time for the city, with tourists flocking in massive hordes, it is an excellent time to experience milder temperatures with plenty of Florida sunshine.

Getting Around Orlando

The most popular way to get around Orlando is to rent a car. Many popular and worthwhile attractions are spread out across the sprawling city, and could be a nuisance to access by relying solely on public transportation. The bus system within Orlando operates under two groupings. The first is the Lynx system, which costs $2 for a ticket and transfer pass. The Lynx will take you around most of the Orlando metro area. The Lymmo bus is free, operating in the Downtown area. The I-Ride trolley is a great way for tourists to get around Orlando, having many routes focused between major attractions.

Orlando Attractions

Orlando flights continue to sell, mainly because of its cluster of family-oriented parks including the world famous Disney World Resort, SeaWorld, and LEGOLAND.

  • Malls—the Florida Mall and Millenia Mall offer bargains and boutique stores alike, not to mention air-conditioning
  • Wet 'n Wild Waterpark—explore a unique alligator-themed amusement park or cool-off from the excitement
  • Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum—exhibitions of the strange, surreal, and unbelievable will have you bewildered and amazed
  • Nature Conservation—adventures at the Forever Florida wildlife conservation area or snorkeling and scuba diving in Discovery Cove
  • Samba Room—mojitos, private rooms, and delicious food are just a few memorial qualities
