Getting Around Miami

Miami's elevated rail system, the Metrorail, covers many tourist destinations including downtown Miami. Inner-city shuttles cover the areas of Coconut Grove and the Coral Gables. There is an extensive system of taxis available throughout the city. Buses cover large routes, including service to outlying suburbs. If you are comfortable driving on rather aggressive roads, many rental car companies are available. Since Miami is large, walking trips will probably take significantly more time, restricting you to daytrips within nearby districts.
