Every season is different in Boston, and Boston adapts to the weather seamlessly. In spring you can enjoy the parks and greenways as they burst into bloom. In summer, the pedestrian markets come into their own. Fall is the time to take on the walking trails and walking tours as the cooler temperatures make the exertion easier! Winter lights Beacon Hill with romantic lamplight over its cobblestone paths. Whenever you visit Boston, you'll find something interesting. Winter brings snow, and summer brings heat. If you're prepared, you'll have a great time.
Getting Around Boston
Driving after your Boston flights? Don't. Boston is small and compact, and it's much easier to get around on foot or by the wonderful public transportation system known as the "T." Commuter rail lines will take you throughout the city center and out into many of the outlying regions. Tour buses will take you to see many of the popular attractions. Often, these buses have guides, but you may find it more interesting to explore on your own and spend as much time as you'd like, rather than being hustled along. "Hop on hop off" tour buses give you the best of both worlds! And if you get to the point where you just can't walk any more, reasonably priced taxis can be found at most touristy destinations.
Boston is a historic city, and most of its streets and buildings have stories to tell. Explore the city, and find out the deeper stories behind your favorite landmarks. Try some of the following to get a taste of the atmosphere of Old Boston:

- Fenway Park, historic home of the Boston Red Socks baseball team.
- Museum of Fine Arts, New England's largest museum with a stunning collection of Monet paintings.
- Massachussets State House, this "new" State House was built in 1798 at the top of Beacon Hill.
- Paul Revere House, the starting point for Paul Revere's historic ride that heralded the beginning of the Revolutionary war.
