Costa Rica Weather
For such a tiny country, weather patterns can be quite diverse. There is hardly a distinction between summer and winter, and the various climates fall according to height above sea level. A city like Montverde, located high in the mountainous areas, for example, is almost always clouded in mists or fog, while Guancaste, on the lowlands, is so dry it is hard to believe. March to May is quite hot, and extra strength sunblock is required. There are no dry spells as the country receives regular downpours, which keep it humid.
