Sun, sand and a SuperSpeedway make Daytona Beach a booming destination for the July 4th holiday.   Two races at the Daytona International Speedway, the Subway Jalapeno 250 and the Coke Zero 400, will draw tens of thousands of spectators for on and off track fireworks.

However, this summer tradition leaves plenty of beach time for fans and casual spectators alike. Both races are run at nighttime, and the green flag doesn’t drop until 7:30 p.m. EST.

A plethora of cheap florida hotels are available outside Daytona Beach.  Orlando is 60 miles west and Jacksonville is 90 miles north.  Tickets for both races start cheap, including $30 per person for the Subway Jalapeno 250 on July 1 and $44 per person for the Coke Zero 400 on July 2.
