The Clarion on Nantasket Beach was a great place to stay. Gas fireplace in the room with a jacuzzi tub and a wonderful view ... of the beach itself. Parking isn't the easiest there but we figured it out eventually. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was decorated nicely and the food we saw looked good. We'll stay again without hesitation.

Great rooms
Tracy Aug 9, 2009
Directly across street from Nantasket beach and within walking distance to restaurants, bars, Dunkin' Donuts. This is the ... only NICE hotel in the area of Nantasket Beach. The room was bigger than expected with high ceilings, fireplace, coffee maker, safe, iron, good sized bathroom with spa tub. We would stay here again for sure. We thought the prices at Raffael's for cocktails and appetizers were too high but it is right across from beach.

Average Hotel

Upon our arrival, we asked for adjoining rooms - clearly, the hotel was empty - and the front desk reception - was rude and ... did not want to try to help - she said because we booked online - she can't switch our rooms. When, I offered to PAY for an upgrade - she found a room. The cell phone coverage in the hotel is non-existant (I left my 7 month at home) and wanted to stay connected - not the hotels fault. The rooms were clean, average. Ours had a HUGE square box going through the middle which made our room half the size of their other rooms (not sure what is was - maybe a boxed in fireplace for the building) but my sisters room didn't have it and her room was much larger. The fireplaces were a nice touch. We upgrade to a room with a balcony - which were TINY - maybe 3 people could stand on it at once - BUT it was a partial view of the ocean.

Upon arrival we were pleasantly waited on by the staff behind the counter. She upgraded us to a room with a balcony and ocean ... view. She directed us to parking and our room. We arrived at our room and were satisfied that is was clean and had every amenatie that any other hotel has. As far as perfection~ no. The room size is on the small side and if you are a picky person that knitpics over everything go elsewhere. Living on the water myself all my life the ocean damages by salt corrosion. So the deck needed painting and some other little things that can't be helped after jerks have occupied the room before you. I would know I have owned a hotel. The idiots that burn holes in the carpet of non-smoking rooms and such! We had an awesome stay and left the door to the balcony open all night as we fell asleep to the sounds of the waves that we so very much enjoy! Thank you room 364

Best of Both Worlds
Carly Oct 25, 2008
My husband and I stayed at the Clarion Natasket Beach Resort for 2 nights in celebration of our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The ... hotel was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful. When they learned it was our anniversary, they were more than happy to upgrade us to a fantastic room with a balcony and view of the ocean! It was breathtaking, and despite the cold weather, I watched the sunrise each morning from the balcony. The gas fireplaces add an extra special touch to the rooms as well. The rooms were clean, and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. The staff was more than happy accommodate any of our requests. The ferry to Boston from Hull, although a bit tricky to find, and not well marked, was just a short drive away. The boat ride was pleasant and quick. Although, the schedule is a bit limited, with the last boat to Boston at about 9 am and the last boat back to Hull at like 6:45 pm. You do have the option to drive just a bit further to Quincy and take the boat from there which had a more extensive schedule. If you will not have a car, the hotel does offer a shuttle to the ferry in Hull. I highly recommend the Clarion Nantasket Beach Resort for anyone who wants to enjoy the best of both worlds - the beach and Boston.

Nice Place, but...
Lori Sep 29, 2008
Was a very good stay (minus some really bad weather); however, come check out time, the shuttle van was off being painted. ... Who paints the one shuttle on a Monday morning without a back-up. Not being made aware of the inconvenience ahead of time, my travel companion had to wait for a taxi and missed the last commuter rail for an hour & had to take a taxi to the nearest T station, which was a whopping $30. Other than that poor planning and notification, I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. The staff was very accomodating & we did our best to stay occupied on a very dreary weekend.

Shannon Sep 1, 2008
The hotel would have been very nice, except the power was out for hours. First it went out as soon as we got there, so we ... went a couple of towns over where there was power, and ate. Then when we got back, it was out again for hours. The hotel staff didn't know why it was happening. We really couldn't enjoy the hotel at all.

Jennifer Aug 1, 2008
The Clarion Nantasket Beach Resort Hotel and Spa was was a pleasant surprise for a one night stay. Our room was upgraded ... upon check-in. It was large with great amenities, a fireplace and beach-view balcony. A late night meal on the restaurant deck was excellent. The staff were all very friendly and accomodating. The hotel has clearly been under renovation, however those aspects still under construction did not impact our stay at all. Great location. Overall, an excellent experience.

Close to the beach!
Josephine Jul 6, 2008
It is directly across from the beach. You pull up nd the valet takes your car and check-in was a breeze. (Here is me being ... nit picky - at check-in they asked if we wanted to upgrade to a room with a balcony for an additional fee - now we checked in at 4:30 on a Saturday night -obviosly they weren't going to sell those rooms, why not just upgrade for free - this was my 2nd time there... but again that's just me being nit picky). The rooms are very big. The king size bed was super comfortable - my only complaint about that was the pillows - for a king size bed, they had regular sized pillows, which is a little strange. The room had a fireplace - which would be nice in the winter - pretty useless on a warm summer night. The only complaint about the room was the bathroom - we were placed in what appeared to be a handicapped room and as such the layout of the tub was very strange and the water poured all over the floor when you took a shower. The jacuzzi tub was a great perk though!

Susan Jun 17, 2008
We stayed for one night and I would definately return to this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was ... lovely, with a spa tub, gas fireplace, mini-fridge and microwave...and everything was very clean. My son thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's pool while I enjoyed the hot tub. The neighborhood was less quaint than I hoped for, but wasn't bad, and my 11-year old son and I felt safe venturing out at 10 p.m. for a donut run! This hotel was also a short drive from Quincy, where you can catch a low-cost ferry right into Boston Harbor/Fanuiel Hall. A GREAT day trip into the city if you need a break from the beach!

The Clarion Nantasket Beach Resort Hotel is a definite two thumbs up. I loved the view from my room, but they need chairs on the balconies! The room service and restaurant served great food ... at reasonable prices. The beach is across the street, which is great! The room was large and included a min-fridge, microwave, and coffemaker. The pool is very nice with a retractable glass roof. The whirlpool bath and fireplace in the room were heavenly!
