My wife and I went to the Raddison for our anniversary and it was our first trip to Aruba. The hotel staff was very friendly ... especially those at Gillagans. The hotel property is landscaped with palm trees, tropical gardens, waterfalls, and fish ponds that make you feel like you are in a tropical oaisis within the desert of Aruba. The Raddison has the best beach in the high rise area with plenty of room and huts for everyone. The two swimming pools are also bigger than the other hotels in the area and they are open 24 hrs. There are plenty of restaurants and shoppping options directly accross the street within walking distance, try Smokey Joes for the best ribs, Giannis for good italian food, and the Amazonian for all you can eat hand carved meats. Plenty of bars to stop at for happy hour specials where drinks are two for one before dinner. The high rise area is a great place to stay if you are looking for water activities as there are many choices up and down the beach icluding sailing, snorkeling, boating, windsurfing, tubing, skiing, jet skiing, etc. Don't forget your sunscreen!!

A great relaxing vacation. The grounds, pool area and beach were manicured and well kept. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly ... and helpful. It was a very quiet and relaxing time. The food at the Sunset Grille was fantastic. The casino staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms could use a little updating. We would definitely return.

This was our third visit to Aruba and the third time we stayed at the Radisson. We are drawn to this hotel because of the ... beautiful beach and lush gardens. What deteriorated over the years are the rooms which have not been upgraded or refurnished. That means that the furniture looked somewhat run-down and the room had a musky smell to it. On the other hand, the hotel still had a coffee maker in the room and always refilled the tea and coffee supplies.

Best Pool in the Area!
meyerske Sep 6, 2009
The room was nice but needed a few things to make it great. The hotel is 50 years old and just needs a little TLC. My only ... complaints were minor (and we're pretty spoiled). The bathroom needed a new shower curtain and shower head (and a shade installed over the bare bulb). The ceiling in the room needed some work. The bed was great and the room was clean. Nice grounds and wonderful pool.

Aruba Lovers Aug 29, 2009
Upon arrival we had to switch rooms due to the obstructed view by the newly built RIU next door. However, we were moved the ... next afternoon to a room across the hall with a better view. The room was above average but the shower was a dribble at best. The staff was always courteous, helpful and happy. Found the drinks to be way over priced and suggest checking out the Palm Pier bar.. Beach was pristine, with enough huts for even the busiest day. The pool was clean, warm and large enough to accommodate the guests. There were cabanas around the pool for rent @ $25 ea, but if they're not taken, there is no problem if you use them a little later in the day. Overall we'd give it an 8 out of 10.

Second Honeymooner Aug 22, 2009
Went for our ten year anniversary. Overall, a great experience! Location of beach bar and food quality at "Gilligan's" was ... lovely for breakfast, lunch & afternoon drinks. Beach was pristine, quiet & relaxing with an attentive staff. Local restaurants were amazing. Some little annoyances: Bed was made up with a stained looking duvet upon check in - housekeeping was up to completely strip & replace all linens in minutes; Bathroom was OK but in need of updating (new fixtures & drop ceiling tiles); the room was twice left without fresh towels but a call to housekeeping got them quickly; cold water was never cold at all (lukewarm);

Aruba Aug 4, 2009
It was a great relaxing getaway. We spend the whole 3 days at the hotel and we did not wanted to go anywhere else. It has ... EVERYTHING and it also has a little restaurant mall right in front of the hotel so if you get tired of eating at the hotel you may cross the street and head to many other places... I WILL LOVE to go back to this hotel in another visit to Aruba.

Radisson = Still a solid choice!!!
Longhorn1 Jul 4, 2009
2nd time to stay at the Radisson. This is a great resort to stay at for couples and adults. We walked thru every resort ... along Palm Beach and we were glad we came back to the Radisson. It's 2 pools are awesome and it has one of the best locations along Palm Beach...not too crowded like further down. The Radisson may not be as upscale as the newer RUI or Marriott, but, IMO, it's way less crowded and has a more relaxed vacation feel than the others along Palm Beach. The fitness center has everything you need to stay in shape. Pro's: AWESOME pools and beach location; Very good dining; the grounds are beautiful; not that many kids. Con's: The rooms are aging a tad. Maybe not as upscale as the RUI or Hyatt, but it's a better value and feels WAY LESS crowded.
